ChaiHwa and Sandy from 53 Design Studio were introduced to us by a friend whose home they had designed. We came to them mid-renovation with a half-completed home and honestly, not much confidence left after our previous ID and contractors stopped short. What we needed most at that point was someone who could look at the situation calmly and tell us what could be done. That's exactly what they did. They walked the house, worked out everything still outstanding — including a few things that weren't safe to use as they stood — and set about putting it right: electrical, tiling, waterproofing, plumbing, wet works. Nothing was patched over to save time. Work that needed redoing was redone properly. Throughout, they were steady and matter-of-fact about it, which did more for our peace of mind than any amount of reassurance would have. What stood out afterwards was how ordinary the process became, in the best sense. Schedules were kept. They listened to how our family actually uses the space before proposing anything, and when we were deciding on materials and colour pairings they gave us clear professional recommendations instead of leaving us to guess. The cabinetry was 3D model, every measurement confirmed on site before production, and the finished units came back almost exactly as rendered — no surprises on installation day. My family now has a warm and cosy place to call home, and I'm genuinely grateful to ChaiHwa and Sandy for that. If you're starting a renovation, I'd suggest speaking to them. Highly & Strongly Recommended & Trustworthy of 53 Design Studio! No regrets for choosing Chai Hwa (53 Design Studio) :)) I felt regretted for not choosing Chai Hwa for my first home. It was a nightmare with the ID that I chose a few years back. So when i am given a second chance to renovate house again, i know for sure i am going to look for Chai Hwa, the only renovation person in my mind ! I am so glad that Chai Hwa is still in this industry and accepted the project! Elated to be able to work with Chai Hwa again :)) Before renovation starts, Chai Hwa went extra miles to drove us in to JB to source for furnitures, kitchen appliances and toiletries. Throughout the whole trips, Chai Hwa was very patience, kind and understanding. The JB furniture shop she brought us to was excellent! We managed to purchase our ideal furnitures there. Not forgetting Sandy whom we met and get to know each other. During the renovation period, Chai Hwa did not give me any issue at all. In fact, it went so smoothly and fast that i wanted to slow down haha! Everything went so quickly that i enjoyed and missed the renovation process with Chai Hwa!
